2019 Global Outreach Opportunities

Tartu, Estonia • July 7-23 • ~$2700.00

In Estonia, we partner with missionaries Crick & Mindy Porier and our very own Beth Ann Erickson.  During the two weeks we will serve in multiple summer camps sharing Jesus, mentoring youth, training nationals, and planting seeds for new churches all around Estonia.  With less than 2% of the population knowing Jesus, Estonia needs more people willing to bring the Gospel to this precious nation.   Ages 18 & Up.

Guadalajara, Mexico • July 27 - August 4 • ~$1300.00

In Mexico, we partner with missionaries Dan & Melinda Nelson.  We will assist with a summer Bible camp for kids in the city of Ciudad Guzmán.  Pastor Miguel and his wife Rose planted a church there 3 years ago and they are working diligently to serve their community and share the Gospel.  Summer camps minister to children and bring invaluable connections with local families. Ages 13 & Up, Age 10-12 with parent.

Houston, Texas • October 6-11 • ~$425.00

Following the flooding of Hurricane Harvey in September of 2017, Houston is still rebuilding.  Samaritan’s Purse has committed to rebuild 1000 homes over the next few years.  Our volunteer team will serve alongside SP for a week of construction, clean up, and home rehabilitation.  Come be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need in Houston. Ages 18 & up, Age 14-17 with parent.

Summer Teams Commitment Deadline • April 14 Summer Teams Training Dates • April 14, May 26, June 9, June 30 (Sundays 12:30-2:30p)

Beth Ann Erickson - Estonia

Beth Ann Erickson
Converge International Ministries

Tartu, Estonia

Beth Ann’s vision is to help make Christ-following disciples in Estonia. Located in the Baltic region of Northern Europe, Estonia is considered one of the most atheistic countries in the world. Beth Ann heard and obeyed God’s call to invest her full-time efforts to the share the Gospel of Jesus there.

Beth Ann spent several years teaching at-risk youth in the city of Denver while she was a member of Stapleton Church. She now serves with an established evangelical church, Kolgata Church (Tartu, Estonia), to engage in discipling and developing the next generation of leaders in Estonia. Currently, she is learning the language and culture, but has already begun partnering with Kolgata Church to minister full-time to youth and young adults. As the youth mature, her dream is to help them plant churches all over Estonia.

Jimmy Smith - Denver, CO

Jimmy Smith
Converge International Ministries

Denver, CO

God’s number one tool for spreading the gospel is the local church. As a Church Mobilization Specialist, Jimmy encourages local churches to send, support and serve more missionaries. He makes it easier for Converge churches to pursue an active, purposeful and fruitful cross-cultural ministry. Working as a catalyst, he encourages, resources and coaches churches in their cross-cultural mission efforts locally and globally so they can help more people meet, know and follow Jesus.

Pray for:

  • Converge churches to send more missionaries to the least-reached peoples.

  • 300 new missionaries called and sent through Converge by 2025.

  • All 1300+ Converge churches to pursue an active, strategic cross-cultural ministry.

15 Ways to Pray for Missionaries

By far, the greatest way we can support our missionaries in true partnership is to regularly pray for them. In addition to specific prayer requests mentioned in their newsletters and websites, here is a list of ways you can pray on behalf of your missionaries.

  1. Love for God
Pray that your missionaries will love God so much that they will always want to serve Him.

  2. Love for others
Pray that God will help your missionaries love each other and everyone else (1 Thessalonians 3:12).

  3. A deeper relationship with God
Pray that your missionaries would follow Jesus’ example. It’s hard to imagine any missionary having a busier life that Jesus did; yet He always took time to pray to His Father.

  4. Spirit-controlled lives
Pray that all of your missionaries will do what God wants them to do.

  5. The fruit of the spirit
Pray that your missionaries will live so others can see them doing things that show they love God.

  6. Wisdom and knowledge
Pray that missionaries will know they have good thoughts, be honest, love peace, be kind to others and obey God as you can read in the Bible (James 3:17).

  7. Courage
Pray that God will give your missionaries courage to pray as Paul did in Ephesians 6:19, that every time they will speak God’s Word.

  8. Receptive hearts
Pray that God will help your missionaries find people who want to learn about Jesus.

  9. Disciples
Pray that your missionaries will be very happy to teach people to obey everything Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:20).

  10. Strong faith
The apostles once asked Jesus: “Increase our faith!” Pray that your missionaries will have great faith that will lead them to ask great things of our Lord.

  11. Steadfastness
Pray that your missionaries will follow Paul’s advice to the Corinthians: “Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

  12. Strong family
Living in other countries can be hard for the missionaries. Pray that missionary families will be close to one another and have stronger families.

  13. Protection
Sometimes missionaries are in danger. Join Jesus in praying to the Father: “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one” (John 17:15).

  14. Material needs
Missionaries often have to live in places that are not comfortable. They may have no running water, hard beds and no stoves. They may not have very much money. Pray that God will give them the things they need so they can do their work “according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

  15. Health and strength
Some places in the world today are not safe. Missionaries may be sick, or someone might steal from them. Pray that God will make them healthy and strong so they can bring Him glory and have all the good things they need.
