This page is a forum for the elders of SFC to communicate regularly with our participants about important developments in the life of our church and about the progress of our mission “…to reach the Stapleton Community and the surrounding communities and to provide an atmosphere in which they can become fully devoted followers of Christ”.  We will update this information monthly to give you an ongoing picture of our development as a church family and of fulfilling our vision of becoming an authentic community of followers of Christ that has maximum impact on the surrounding community for Christ. 

In this inaugural update, the elders wish to share two major things: 

1.  We have decided to change the fiscal year of SFC from the calendar year to an October to September time frame.  There are numerous reasons for this change, but chief among them is the need for us to do our budget planning process each year in advance of the holiday season.  In accordance with this change, the elders and finance team will be presenting a 2008-2009 budget proposal, together with a projected funding plan, to the congregation within the month of September.  This year’s budget will represent a slight increase over last year’s, primarily due to the recent expansion of our church staff and some modest increases in the outreach/marketing area.  Please pray for our leadership in this process, and plan to participate in the congregational discussion and adoption of the budget if you are a member. 

2.  We are proactively praying about and researching opportunities for securing a permanent location (land and building) in the area.  This is a complex and multifaceted process, and it may prove to take some period of time before it is a reality.  Please join us in praying that the Lord would strongly guide us in this process, and that He would make evident the exact location we are supposed to occupy, along with the resources needed to make it happen.  Also be aware that the possible acquisition of land and building becomes more of a reality as we establish a strong base of congregants who are committed to our mission and vision.
